Nothing like being treated to dead air

Wow, 45 minutes, sister station 98.5 Big Classic Rock was dead air save for two, 30-second commercials.  We wanted to know who now owns the Great Scott radio cluster - Adams Radio or Great Scott Broadcasting.  Great Scott Broadcasting still claims ownership, but then again, their website still shows Sarah as a DJ.  Contact information over at WZBH takes you to the Great Scott Broadcasting website.  Big Classic Rock's website still claims to be owned by Great Scott Broadcasting.  Over at Big Classic Rock, there's only one DJ, Adam.  He must be overworked because the operations manager (that's Crank) apparently doesn't give a damn and no one knows who really owns the stations.

And that's why we were treated to 45 minutes of dead air, tonight.  Must be a lot of drunk rednecks running the show....

  4. Actually, we don't know. We haven't heard Tyler on in the morning and thought he left the station. None of us listen to Crank in the morning much any more because he hasn't offered anything new, creatively-wise, in the last five years. There are shake ups at some local radio stations as Great Scott Broadcasting (owners of WZBH) transitions ownership of some of its stations over to The Adams Group, a company based out of MN. We've caught up with Doug McKenzie, Captain Blue, and possibly Ian McKay, all former employess of Great Scott and WZBH. We're still not sure where Tyler is, but if anyone knows, please let us know. If we had an inside track, we'd be better at bringing the information to you, but we're just listeners like everyone else.

  5. A lot changed quickly, as we learned last night. Crank is no longer with WZBH and this update (http://wzbhcriticspage.blogspot.com/2015/03/crank-is-gone-sans-apology.html) is the most we know right now.

  6. Tyler is the official announcer for Delmarva Shorebirds. Ian McKay is at WGMD as a News Anchor.

  7. Thank you for the update, Anonymous. Now the only one we're missing is Chris Steele. He left so long ago, I keep forgetting to include him.

  8. Chris Steele is an X-Ray Tech. He was in school while at ZBH.
